Dr. Lin, along with Dr. Bin Hu and two graduate students, attended the Annual Fort Bend Chamber Technology Expo at the University of Houston’s Sugar Land campus. Our team presented several projects to students, high school teachers, and other stakeholders, highlighting the department’s work. Dr. Lin helped with promoting the department and, more importantly, as part of his constant commitment to education, engaged in productive discussions with high school teachers about future projects for students. He also explored potential collaborations with Houston Community College (HCC) on their new AI & Robotics program.
Presented projects:
- Developed tiny AI models for object detection using OFA algorithm.
- Developed a drone from scratch by supervising a group of undergraduate students.
- Configuration and implementation of different advanced services on drones for autonomous flight.
- Quadrotor Fault-Tolerant Control at High Speed. We proposed a fault-tolerant control strategy for a drone with completely failed propellers and a sloshing payload.
